The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Golden Movie Awards, Mimi Andani, has expressed support for Counsellor Charlotte Oduro following the announcement of her divorce from Apostle Solomon Oduro.
In a video shared on social media on February 14, 2025, Mimi Andani called on social media users to stop their constant criticism, pointing out that Charlotte Oduro is not the first person to go through a divorce.
“Rev Charlotte Oduro’s issues catch my eye because, for someone who has been in a relationship for five years, got married for eight years, lived with the same man for thirteen years, and got divorced on the thirteenth year, I think I have an opinion on this. For those of you who are happy criticising her left and right because she is divorced.
“Your reason is just because you are not bold enough, and tolerating disrespect and abuse doesn’t mean your marriage is successful. What right have you got to criticise somebody? Charlotte Oduro, I have so many things to tell. You, based on your teachings… All I want to say from a sister to another is I wish you healing, protection, and I wish the Holy Spirit would comfort you and be with you,” she stated.
She added that most people are in unhealthy marriages, however, are stuck because of endurance to toxicity.
“I respect you because you are enduring, and everybody has an endurance rate, and yours might be hard. You have your reason for being there. Those of you who have successful marriages should keep thanking God because you have not seen the end of it yet.
“Also, those of you who have been married for twenty to twenty-five years don’t make your marriage a successful one. It could mean you are used to disrespect and abuse,” she added.
Mimi Andani, who officially ended her marriage in November 2023, further urged singles to avoid criticising divorcees, as they lack firsthand experience of marriage.
“For those who are not married, can you take a seat at the back where nobody can see? Take a seat and learn from the crowd. You have no reason to throw your opinions. You have not been married before, so you can’t have an opinion. You are just assuming,” she stated.
