Detective Sergeant Katie Davies of the Serious Collision Investigation Unit said their ‘thoughts remain with all who are in hospital’ while announcing an investigation into the pile-up.
She urged anyone with information to come forward, while thanking those who already had.
‘This includes anybody who may have been travelling in the area and who may have dash cam footage showing the silver BMW 118 and Silver Mercedes being driven prior to the collision,’ she said.
‘I would like to thank the local community and motorists for their patience whilst the road was closed to allow our officers and staff to carry out their initial enquiries.
‘And I would like to remind the public that our teams are undertaking a careful and thorough investigation, and as arrests have been made, I would urge the public not to speculate or make any comments on social media that may prejudice any future potential legal proceedings.’
