Lawyers for Gifty Oware-Mensah, a member of the Executive Council of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), have disclosed the whereabouts of the former Deputy Executive Director of the National Service Authority (NSA).

Over the last couple of weeks, Oware-Mensah has faced criticism following allegations of her involvement in the NSA payroll scandal.

With concerns over her absence from the public, reports suggested she had absconded in an attempt to evade accountability.

However, her legal team, Sarkodie Baffour Awuah and Partners, in a statement on Friday, February 28, 2025, elaborated on the reason for her absence from the public eye, stating she even joined the Black Queens camp in Morocco later this February and that she’s still committed to Ghana and has no plans to relocate.

“Our client exercised her freedom of movement guaranteed under the 1992 Constitution to travel outside the country to take a break after the 2024 general elections. It is worthy of note that even while on her break, she joined the Black Queens in Morocco in February 2025 as an Executive Council Member of the Ghana Football Association (GFA),” the statement read.

The lawyers also explained that Oware-Mensah hasn’t received any summons from the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB) or other investigative bodies and therefore urged the public to disregard misleading claims and let due process unfold.
