Ghana men’s national athletics team claimed bronze in the men’s 4x100m relay at the ongoing African athletics competition after producing a strong performance in a thrilling final.

The Ghanaian quartet made up of Joseph Paul Amoah, Rasheed Saminu, Edwin Gadayi and Ibrahim Fuseini finished third with a time of 38.74 seconds.

Côte d’Ivoire won gold in 38.52 seconds, while Nigeria secured silver after clocking 38.70 seconds in a highly competitive race.

Ghana’s relay team had promised to bounce back after missing out on medals in the individual sprint events earlier in the competition, and they delivered with an impressive podium finish.

The race produced a dramatic conclusion, with all three leading teams pushing strongly through the final exchange and sprint to the line in one of the standout relay performances of the championship.
