Nigerian singer, Fireboy, has stated that Ghana’s senior national football team, the Black Stars, is currently better than Nigeria’s Super Eagles.
He acknowledged that while Nigeria may boast more individual talent, Ghana has a more cohesive and effective team.
Fireboy shared his thoughts during a recent episode of the ’90s Baby Show’.
He said, “Right now, Ghana is a better team than Nigeria’s Super Eagles. Individually, we (Nigerians) are better. But as a team, Ghana is better.
“For some reason, we haven’t been able to combine the brilliance of each player to form a solid team. I think it will take time. We have a lot of talent, but we haven’t been able to utilise it.”
He also pointed out a major difference in team structure, particularly in the midfield.
“Unlike Ghana, we don’t have a strong midfield. Just Thomas Partey alone, we don’t have anyone who can match that. You saw how Partey handled Real Madrid during their Champions League clash with Arsenal. We don’t have that,” he stated.
Nigeria and Ghana are scheduled for another epic showdown at the 2025 Unity Cup in London, United Kingdom in May.
