Ghana midfielder Abdul Sulemana was named Man of the Match in the Black Satellites’ 1-1 draw against DR Congo in their opening Group C match at the 2025 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations in Egypt.

The encounter, held at the Suez Stadium on Friday evening, saw DR Congo take the lead in the 16th minute through Samuel Ntanda after a lapse in Ghana’s defence.

Sulemana, though not flawless in decision-making, impressed with his energy and forward runs, standing out among his teammates.

Ghana responded swiftly, and in the 24th minute, Emmanuel Mensah set up Aziz Musibau, who calmly slotted in the equaliser.

Despite both teams pushing for a winner in the second half, clear chances were missed at both ends. Ghana looked threatening on the break, while DR Congo lacked sharpness in the final third.

Ghana face Senegal next, with DR Congo set to meet the Central African Republic.
