Ghana defender Abdul Mumin has added another accolade to his impressive season, being named Rayo Vallecano’s Player of the Month for September.

The hardworking centre-back received the award on Wednesday at the club’s training grounds.

This is Mumin’s second award of the season, following his La Liga Goal of the Month recognition for a stunning strike against CA Osasuna.

The 26-year-old has been a standout performer for Vallecano, making 10 appearances so far and scoring one goal.

Mumin’s form has also cemented his place in Ghana’s senior national team, with two appearances in the Black Stars’ recent Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Regarded as one of Europe’s most promising defenders, his stock continues to rise.

He is under contract with the Madrid-based club until June 2026, having joined from Vitória S.C. in September 2022.
