Renowned Ghanaian Highlife musician, Kaakyire Kwame Appiah, has appealed to the general public to forgive rapper King Paluta following the recent controversy surrounding his stage performance.
Speaking in an interview on Joy Prime on January 8, 2026, Kwame Appiah expressed deep sadness over the incident and urged Ghanaians to show compassion, especially since the artiste has publicly apologised.
“I feel so sad about the whole issue. It’s just recently that I saw him pleading on social media,” he said.
According to the veteran musician, he sought clarification on the matter after seeing King Paluta’s apology, and some of his children explained what transpired during the musician’s performance.
“I asked the reason why he was asking for forgiveness and some of my children narrated what happened during his performance,” he stated.
Kaakyire Kwame Appiah stressed that mistakes are part of human nature and should not define an individual permanently.

“I feel we’re all humans and we make mistakes. We can all get angry at him, but we can also forgive him,” he shared.
He further described King Paluta as a humble and respectful person based on his personal interactions with him, adding that the rapper may have acted out of anger at the time.
“I’ve met him just once but he’s so humble. I mostly speak to him on the phone and the way he talks to me made me realise he’s respectful. Maybe he was triggered and he couldn’t control himself,” he noted.
Kaakyire Kwame Appiah appealed to the public to accept King Paluta’s apology and move on, emphasising the importance of forgiveness.
“Since he has apologised, we should forgive him,” he added.
