Ghanaians on social media, specifically X (formerly Twitter), have mocked Nigerians after the Super Eagles dropped points against Zimbabwe in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers on Tuesday, March 25, 2025.

Zimbabwe held the 2023 AFCON finalists to a 1-1 draw at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo, leaving Nigeria’s qualification hopes hanging by a thread.

Ghanaians were joyful, celebrating the possibility of Nigeria missing out on the World Cup.

Many highlighted the prospect of the nation missing international tournaments for the second consecutive time.

South Africans, who are in the same group as Nigeria, also celebrated the draw, as it gave Bafana Bafana a significant advantage.

Meanwhile, Nigerians remain hopeful that despite their difficult situation, with four games left in the qualifiers.

South Africa lead the group with 13 points, Rwanda sit second with 8 points, Benin are third with 7 points, Nigeria are fourth with 7 points, Lesotho are fifth with 6 points, and Zimbabwe sit at the bottom with 4 points.
