Ghanaians have shared their varied views on Thomas Partey’s rape and sexual assault charges.

They are confident the Ghanaian midfielder will be cleared of all charges as they believe he is innocent.

Speaking to GhanaWeb Sports, one fan said, “Actually, I don’t believe he can do that, I know that boy very well and I don’t believe he can do such things.”

Another football fan stated, “One thing I’ve noticed is that it’s something they normally do to us the black players. If they see you progressing, they find ways to bring you down, I don’t think it’s true, but they will definitely find him guilty because he’s a black man”.

“Partey’s football career has been excellent and his personality is amazing. I’m sure this thing can be settled amicably at home but they want to just destroy his career,” said another fan

Another fan added,“ Partey is innocent and the ladies involved in the case are just used to set him up, but I believe after the judgement he will be vindicated.”

Meanwhile, Thomas Partey has been charged with 5 counts of rape and one count of sexual assault on July 4, 2025, against three different women.

The 32-year-old who is currently a free agent after seeing his contract end at Arsenal, has denied all allegations and is currently working with the authorities to clear his name from all charges.

Partey is scheduled to appear at the Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, to answer to the charges against him.
