In an appearance on Joy News Newsfile on November 9, Sammy Gyamfi, the National Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), expressed strong criticism of the current administration led by President Akufo-Addo and Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.

“The Akufo-Addo/Bawumia administration has clearly lost control over the economy, bringing hardship to the ordinary Ghanaian,” Gyamfi asserted, highlighting the growing challenges faced by citizens amidst rising inflation and economic instability.

Gyamfi’s comments reflect a broader sentiment among many Ghanaians who are feeling the pinch of economic difficulties.

From soaring prices of basic goods to increasing unemployment rates, the struggles of everyday life have become a pressing concern.

In this context, Gyamfi emphasized the importance of experienced leadership, particularly pointing to former President John Dramani Mahama.

“Mr. Mahama is a leader with experience and understanding of the Ghanaian economy. Ghanaians will vote for him to steer the country forward,” he stated confidently.

The NDC has been vocal about Mahama’s past economic record, which they describe as exemplary.

During his tenure, Mahama implemented various policies aimed at stabilizing the economy and promoting growth, including investments in infrastructure and social programs. Gyamfi argued that such experience is crucial for navigating the current economic landscape.

“We need someone who knows how to manage the economy effectively, someone who has been tested under pressure,” he added.
