Ghanaian footballer Razak Simpson has received widespread praise, not just for his performances on the pitch for Nations FC and the Black Stars, but for his live a comfortable life.

The Nations FC centre-back and the 2025 Home-Based Footballer of the Year at the Ghana Football Awards was recently spotted by fans riding in a trotro.

But while his stock continues to rise in Ghanaian football, Simpson’s decision to still use public transport despite his fame has been admired by many.

In a video that has since gone viral, fans were seen cheering and praising him as he sat quietly in the front seat of a trotro.

“This guy is the best defender. He knows how to play football,” one fan exclaimed.

Others hailed him as “one of the best defenders.”

Simpson, 27, enjoyed a breakout 2024/25 season with Nations FC, playing 21 league games and scoring four goals, one of which was named Goal of the Season at the 2025 Ghana Football Awards.

His standout club form earned him a debut call-up to the Black Stars in November 2024, and has since made five appearances for the senior national team.
