Renowned playwright and CEO of Roverman Productions, Uncle Ebo Whyte, has expressed opinion on what he describes as self-hate among Ghanaians.

In an interview on JoyPrime shared on X on September 10, 2025, Ebo Whyte noted that Ghanaians hate to see each other prosper.

He explained that Ghanaians only support their own when they feel they are financially better than them.

“I can’t explain why the spirit of Ghana is like that; we don’t want to see a Ghanaian prospering or doing well,” he said.

Ebo Whyte however noted that the same attitude is not directed at foreigners in the country.

“If it is a foreigner, we don’t mind, but if it is a Ghanaian, we have a problem,” he added.
