The world of sports is often associated with high-energy competition, thrilling victories, and heartbreaking defeats.

However, beyond the playing fields, some sports personalities have found love and happiness in their personal lives.

From footballers and former coaches to club administrators, this article explores the romantic side of Ghanaian sports personalities who found their perfect match in 2024.

    Thomas Partey

The Arsenal midfielder, after splitting up with his Moroccan wife, Sara Bella, in 2022, found love again.

This time, Partey met a British-born model and social media influencer, Janine Mackson, who, according to reports, was introduced to Partey’s family in 2023 when the pair visited Ghana.

In October 2023, Janine announced her pregnancy on Instagram, and in January 2024, the couple welcomed their first child, a baby girl.

Months after their daughter’s birth, in May 2024, Partey proposed to Janine while the couple was on vacation. Photos shared by Janine showed Partey kneeling on the beach as he proposed.

Janine later flaunted her engagement ring in another Instagram post, confirming she had Partey all to herself.

    Inaki Williams

From one Black Stars player to another, Inaki Williams officially married his long-time girlfriend, Patricia Morales, in June 2024.

Attended by Athletic Club squad members, coaching staff, and close friends, Williams and Morales tied the knot at the Basilica de Begoña in Bilbao, Spain.

It was a private wedding, with the couple inviting only their closest friends and family to bless their union.

Inaki took advantage of a leave granted by Black Stars coach Otto Addo, as he was recovering from a foot injury and surgery, to host the wedding.

    Richard Boadu

Richard Boadu also held a private ceremony in Ghana, where he married his long-time girlfriend, Vicentia Boadu, in January 2024.

Known for his robust moves in the midfield, the former Asante Kotoko midfielder celebrated his wedding at Gyinyase in Kumasi. The occasion was graced by the couple’s families and Boadu’s former teammates.

Notable among the attendees was Ghanaian rapper Strongman, who is reportedly a friend of the midfielder.

Strongman performed some tunes for the guests, while Boadu and his fiancée treated everyone to impressive dance moves.

    Nana Ama Asantewaa

The star-studded ceremony saw the former Black Queens goalkeeper tie the knot with Ghana Football Association technical member Kofi Opoku in July 2024.

The ceremony was attended by friends and family of the couple.

Asantewaa was an integral part of the Black Queens team at the 2016 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, starting in four games. Her husband, Kofi Opoku, has been part of Ghana’s youth national teams at various tournaments.

    Ameenu Shardow

Black Stars team manager and Dreams FC General Manager, Ameenu Shardow, also married his long-time girlfriend just before the year ended.

In a post shared by Dreams FC, the “Still Believe” boys announced Shardow’s wedding, sharing a photo of him dressed in white alongside his partner, who was seated on his lap.

As this article concludes its journey into the romantic lives of Ghanaian sports personalities, one thing is clear: love knows no boundaries, not even in the high-pressure world of sports.

These sports personalities have proven that with hard work and dedication, they can achieve success both on and off the field.

Their weddings and relationships are a testament to the power of love and commitment.
