    It was a mixed bag of results for Ghanaian players abroad over the weekend, with some stars shining bright while others struggled to find their feet.

    Although many Ghanaian players were active during the weekend, these individuals caught the attention:

    Joseph Paintsil

    The LA Galaxy winger started against the Seattle Sounders on the morning of Sunday, December 1, 2024, as the Galaxy won by one goal to zero.

    Paintsil was substituted in the ninetieth minute as LA Galaxy secured the MLS Western Conference trophy. It was Paintsil’s first title with the club in his debut season, and he will have the chance to add another when they face the New York Red Bulls on Saturday, December 7, 2024, in the MLS Cup final.

    Forson Amankwah

    The Norwich City player recorded his third assist of the season as the Canaries beat Luton Town 4-2 on Saturday, November 30, 2024, moving up to ninth on the Championship table.

    After Norwich fell behind within the first eighteen minutes, Amankwah won the ball in the penalty box and poked it to teammate Ante Crnac, who made no mistake in firing it into the net for his third goal of the season.

    Gideon Mensah

    Unlike Amankwah and Paintsil, Gideon Mensah suffered a 2-0 defeat against Toulouse. The left-back played the entire game as a wing-back.

    However, it wasn’t one of his best performances, as he lost possession 14 times and failed to complete any of his crosses. Nonetheless, he managed an 84% pass success rate.

    Jordan Ayew

    In the Premier League, Jordan Ayew failed to add to his goal tally since joining Leicester City. The striker, who has scored three goals for the Foxes, played 80 minutes in a 4-1 defeat to Brentford.

    Known for his trickery, Ayew failed to beat his marker in five attempts but maintained an impressive 95% passing accuracy.

    Ransford Yeboah Königsdörffer

    Ransford Yeboah’s dream of playing in the German top flight might just be gaining momentum as Hamburg defeated Karlsruhe 3-1, moving into the automatic qualification spots.

    Yeboah played 78 minutes and had 20 touches. However, his day turned sour as he missed two big chances, failing to add to his tally of six goals.

    Although it wasn’t all smooth sailing, overall, it was a good showing from these players, who continue to prove their talent week in and week out.
