GhanaWeb has learned that a flight operated by Africa World Airlines en route from Abuja faced an emergency mid-air when a passenger suffered a medical crisis, just 20 minutes after takeoff at 1:00 PM Abuja time.
The flight was said to have immediately diverted to Lagos in an effort to get medical assistance.
However, despite attempts to save him, the passenger is reported to have passed away.
The deceased has been identified as an employee of the Ghana High Commission in Abuja.
Meanwhile, authorities are yet to release further details regarding the cause of death.
