The Ghana Football Association has announced plans to make Ghanaian music a central feature of the Ghana national football team matchday experience at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, in a move aimed at amplifying the country’s cultural presence on the global stage.

Speaking on Asempa FM, GFA Communications Director Henry Asante Twum revealed that the initiative aligns with a broader FIFA plan to incorporate local music into the tournament atmosphere.

According to him, selected Ghanaian tracks will be played during key matchday moments, including when players walk out of the tunnel and during warm-ups. He added that a designated song will be played whenever Ghana scores, ensuring goal celebrations are accompanied by authentic local sounds.

Twum further noted that from the quarter-final stage, a hype man will be introduced to enhance fan engagement, with Ghanaian music continuing to feature prominently.

The initiative is expected to boost player morale while showcasing Ghana’s vibrant music industry to a global audience.

Ghana, drawn in Group L, will face Panama national football team, England national football team and Croatia national football team in matches scheduled across Toronto, Boston and Philadelphia.
