Ghanaian forward, Kwame Poku delivered a standout performance for Peterborough United on Tuesday night, scoring and providing an assist in the team’s dominant 5-1 victory over Blackpool in an English League One clash.

Peterborough took control of the game early in the Round 13 fixture, with Malik Mothersille opening the scoring in the 8th minute, assisted by Joel Randall. Just nine minutes later, Randall doubled Peterborough’s lead, putting the hosts in a commanding position.

Blackpool briefly found a lifeline when Kyle Joseph scored a consolation goal in the 27th minute. However, the joy was short-lived as Kwame Poku restored Peterborough’s two-goal cushion just a minute later, finding the back of the net after being set up by Mothersille.

The Ghanaian international wasn’t done yet, as he turned provider in the 73rd minute, assisting Joel Randall for his second goal of the match and Peterborough’s fifth. An own goal by Blackpool’s Odeluga Offiah in the 71st minute had already compounded the visitors’ misery, sealing the resounding win for the home side.

Poku’s performance was a highlight of the evening, as his goal and assist played a pivotal role in Peterborough’s attacking display.

The 5-1 victory strengthens Peterborough’s position in the English League One standings, as they continue their push for promotion.
