Ghanaian duo Andre Ayew and Denis Odoi are set to become free agents this summer after NAC Breda decided against triggering the options to extend their contracts following the club’s relegation from the Eredivisie.

The Dutch side suffered relegation with two games to spare after a 2-0 defeat away to FC Utrecht last week.

The Yellow and Blacks currently sit 17th on the league table with 25 points, and victories in their remaining two matches will still not be enough to avoid relegation.

Following the drop to the second tier, NAC Breda have now confirmed they will not activate the extension clauses in the contracts of Ayew and Odoi, meaning both experienced Ghana internationals will leave the Rat Verlegh Stadion at the end of the season.

Ayew only joined the club in January this year, while Belgian-born Ghanaian defender Odoi arrived in November last year. Their futures are now expected to be elsewhere heading into the summer transfer window.

For Kamal Sowah, however, the situation is different as the Right to Dream Academy graduate still has one and a half years remaining on his current contract with NAC Breda despite the club’s relegation.
