Ghanaian midfielder Rahim Ibrahim

Ghanaian midfielder Rahim Ibrahim made a decisive impact off the bench, scoring in SK Slovan Bratislava’s 3-1 victory over FK Zeleziarne Podbrezova in the Slovak Nike Liga on Sunday.

The 22-year-old came on in the second half and wasted no time in influencing the game, netting Slovan’s second goal in the 69th minute.

It marked his second goal of the season since joining the Slovakian champions from AS Trenčín in February 2025.

The match opened up in the second half after a tightly contested first period.

Veteran forward Vladimir Weiss broke the deadlock for Slovan from the penalty spot in the 57th minute, before Ibrahim doubled their lead just over 10 minutes later with a well-placed finish.

David Strelec added a third for the home side in the 77th minute, further solidifying Slovan’s control.

Podbrezova managed a late consolation through Samuel Stefánik in the 84th minute, but it was too little too late as Slovan wrapped up all three points.

Ibrahim’s performance highlights his growing importance in the Slovan midfield.

Since his arrival, he has brought energy, tactical awareness, and composure, quickly becoming a reliable option for head coach Vladimír Weiss.

With this victory, Slovan Bratislava remain top of the table with 69 points, continuing their march toward yet another league title.
