Ghanaian cyclist James Kumbeni is set to embark on an epic journey from Ghana to Morocco ahead of the AFCON, aiming to promote climate change awareness, sustainability, and showcase the region’s rich tourism sites. On February 11, 2025, Kumbeni visited the Embassy of the Kingdom of Morocco, where he held a productive meeting with Ambassador Her Excellency Imane Ouaadilil.

During the meeting, Kumbeni outlined his ambitious cycling expedition, emphasizing its dual purpose as both a sporting challenge and a platform for environmental advocacy. “Today, we had the privilege of visiting the Embassy of the Kingdom of Morocco, where we engaged in fruitful discussions with the ambassador about my upcoming cycling journey from Ghana to Morocco ahead of the AFCON. Our conversation focused on using this ride as a platform to promote climate change awareness and sustainability,” he shared in a post-meeting update.

The warm reception and enthusiastic support from the embassy have reinforced his commitment to the cause, with both parties expressing optimism about potential future collaborations to drive climate action across borders.

James Kumbeni’s upcoming ride is more than just a physical challenge—it’s a mission to make a lasting impact on environmental issues while strengthening cultural ties between Ghana and Morocco. Stay tuned for further updates as he gears up for this historic ride.
