One of the Ghana Women’s Premier League teams, Lady Strikers, have been involved in an accident on the Accra-Tema Motorway on Saturday, November 16, 2024, according to ghanasoccernet.com.

Reports have indicated that the team’s bus veered off its lane and tipped over toward the roadside, causing the vehicle to lock and fall.

Fortunately, there have been no reports of fatalities.

The accident occurred while the team was en route to face Halifax Ladies in round four of the 2024/2025 Women’s Premier League at the Nii Adjei Kraku II Park in Tema New Town.

As of now, there has been no official statement regarding whether the match will proceed as scheduled or will be postponed due to the incident.

The Ghana Women’s Premier League authorities are yet to release an official statement on the matter, with concerns about the players’ well-being still at the forefront.

Lady Strikers, based in Cape Coast, have had a challenging start to the season, collecting only four points from their first three matches.
