Ghana dominated the All-African U-15 Badminton Championships, clinching an impressive five gold medals and one silver in the six-event tournament finals held on Tuesday, August 5, 2025.

Dubbed the Ghana Grand Slam 2025, the championship took place at the state-of-the-art Borteyman Sports Complex, where the host nation showcased its badminton prowess, securing top honors.

The five-day competition featured top junior talents from 24 countries across the continent, all vying for continental glory.

Ghana’s rising star, Obampo Adu-Mintah, stole the spotlight with an outstanding performance, securing four gold medals across multiple events. Meanwhile, U-15 national girls’ champion Moslena Ama Adu Koramah added to Ghana’s medal haul with three golds and a silver.

The hosts delivered commanding performances in both the boys’ and girls’ singles finals. Top-seeded, Adu Koramah Mintah overpowered South Africa’s Aiden Dednam in a swift 23-minute showdown (2-0) to claim gold.

Moslena Ama Adu Koramah also triumphed in a thrilling women’s singles final, defeating Algeria’s Chiraz Halimi 2-1 in a nail-biting encounter.

Ghana’s dominance continued with gold medal victories in the team relays, boys’ doubles, and mixed doubles, capping off a spectacular tournament with an emphatic win over South Africa.

Evans Yeboah, President of the Ghana Badminton Federation, lauded the U-15 team for their exceptional performance and encouraged them to maintain their winning momentum in future competitions.
