President of the Ghana Football Association, Kurt Okraku, has confirmed that Ghana will host the U-20 Africa Cup of Nations in 2027.
The announcement was made on Sunday, April 26, 2026, through a post on his official Facebook page. Ghana will host the tournament for the first time in nearly three decades, having last staged the competition—then known as the African Youth Championship—in 1999.
During that edition, the Ghana national under-20 football team reached the final but finished as runners-up to Nigeria.
Ghana has since maintained a strong presence in the competition, winning its fourth title in 2021. The confirmation to host the 2027 edition marks a significant milestone, with preparations expected to begin as the country aims to deliver a successful continental tournament.
