The Ghana Prisons Service has firmly dismissed widespread social media rumors surrounding Madam Patricia Asiamah, popularly known as Agradaa, who is currently serving her sentence at the Nsawam Female Prison.

Recent viral posts alleged that Agradaa was in poor health, suffering from swollen legs and receiving special medical attention from a private doctor multiple times a week. Some accounts even claimed she was emotionally distressed and crying frequently.

However, in an official statement signed by Deputy Director of Prisons Janet Asabea, the Service labelled these reports as false and misleading.

The statement emphasized that the rumours were deliberately spread by some social media users aiming to attract followers through sensational headlines like “Breaking news from Nsawam.”

The Ghana Prisons Service reiterated its commitment to the safe custody, rehabilitation, and reformation of all inmates, stressing that every prisoner is treated equally under the law.

Citizens are urged to disregard unverified social media reports and rely solely on official communications from the Ghana Prisons Service regarding inmate-related matters.
