    The Ghana Police Service on Thursday, December 4, 2025 rolled out a fleet of newly acquired special-purpose armored vehicles in a public parade through selected streets of Accra.

    The exercise, which drew the attention of pedestrians, motorists and business owners, was aimed at showcasing the Service’s upgraded operational capabilities.

    President John Dramani Mahama on December 4, 2025, presented 40 new armored vehicles to the service boosting its ability to protect the public and maintain order, a move that enhances national security.

    Residents captured videos of the procession, many expressing curiosity and surprise at the sight of the heavy-duty machinery.

    According to the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Christian Tetteh Yohunu, the fleet forms part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the Police Service and improve public safety.

    The parade marks one of the most visible demonstrations yet of the Service’s expanded logistical capacity.
