The Director of Sports of the Ghana Police Service, ASP Bernice Timbilla, on January 19, 2026, formally handed over the duly completed participation and registration forms for the Ghana Police Male and Female Volleyball Teams, officially registering their intention to participate in the CAVB Zone 3 Club Championship.

The handover took place at the office of Bernard Anbataayela Mornah, acting on behalf of the Ghana Volleyball Federation.

This action confirms the readiness of the Ghana Police Volleyball Teams to compete in the Zone 3 Championship scheduled to be hosted in Accra from March 1-8, 2026, under the auspices of the Confederation Africaine de Volleyball (CAVB) Zone 3.

By this submission, the Ghana Police Service has officially registered the will of both its Male and Female Volleyball Teams to represent the Service and the Republic of Ghana at the regional championship, which will feature clubs from Benin, Burkina Faso, Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana, Liberia, Niger, Nigeria and Togo.

Speaking during the handover, ASP Bernice Timbilla underscored the philosophy that supporting the Police means supporting policing through sports.

She therefore called on corporate institutions, partners and well-meaning stakeholders to support Police sports initiatives as a direct investment in effective policing and national security.

The Ghana Police Male and Female Volleyball Teams now look forward to a successful and impactful participation in the 2026 CAVB Zone 3 Club Championship, proudly representing the Service and the nation on the regional volleyball stage.
