Tragedy struck the football community on February 2, 2025, when Nana Pooley, a devoted Asante Kotoko supporter, was fatally stabbed during the club’s match against Nsoatreman.

What began as an on-field altercation among players quickly escalated into the stands, resulting in the tragic incident.

Following the attack, the Ghana Police Service launched a thorough investigation to bring justice to the deceased’s family, leading to the arrest of multiple suspects, including Nsoatreman owner Ignatius Baffour-Awuah.

Now, in a significant development, Asante Kotoko’s lawyer, Sarfo Duku, has revealed that the Ghana Police Service has identified Pooley’s killer.

Speaking to reporters after a court appearance, Duku disclosed that police documents and statements from suspects all point to a man named Braimah as the individual who fatally stabbed Pooley.

    However, he remains at large.

“One person is still at large. He’s called Braimah, and according to the police, based on their findings, he is the one who actually stabbed the deceased,” Duku stated.

“In fact, according to the police, I’m speaking based on their official report, which is now a public document, all the accused persons have admitted that it was Braimah, who is currently on the run, that stabbed Pooley to death.”

As investigations continue, Asante Kotoko held a one-week memorial celebration for their fallen supporter on Sunday, February 16, 2025.

The event saw fans from various Ghana Premier League clubs come together to pay their respects.
