Ghana has moved up one spot, from 77th to 76th globally, in the latest rankings released by the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) in April 2025.
The improvement comes following the Black Stars‘ recent impressive performances.
In the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, they defeated Chad 5-0 on March 21, at the Accra Sports Stadium; and secured a comfortable 3-0 win over Madagascar on March 25, 2025.
However, Ghana remains in the 14th position in Africa and trails countries like Morocco, Nigeria, Algeria, Senegal, Burkina Faso, and others.
On the global stage, Argentina maintained their number one spot at the summit of the ranking, while Spain overtook France to take second place.
France, England, Brazil, Netherlands, and Belgium occupy the 3rd to 8th positions, respectively.
Ghana will continue to surge in the rankings if the Black Stars continue their excellent performances in their upcoming friendlies and World Cup qualifying games.
