The Minister of Trade, Agribusiness, and Industry, Elizabeth Ofosu-Agyare, has revealed government’s plans to enhance Ghana’s competitiveness and access to international markets.

Speaking at the opening of the 2nd Kwahu Business Forum on April 19, 2025, the minister highlighted that Ghana’s national development agenda prioritises building strategic partnerships to drive economic growth.

She noted that the ministry is focused on accelerating trade expansion, leveraging institutions like the Ghana Export Promotion Authority and opportunities within the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) to position Ghana more prominently on the global trade stage.

“Our national development blueprint places great emphasis on building strong partnerships across three core levels, government-to-government, government-to-business, and business-to-business. In today’s rapidly evolving global trade landscape. Ghana is taking bold steps to position itself strategically for increased market access and competitiveness,” the minister said.

She added that, “Together with the Ghana Export Promotion Authority and the National AFCFTA office, the ministry is embarking on targeted export expeditions to deepen trade relations and improve market access,” she said
