The Acting Executive Director of the Ghana Library Authority, Ziblim Alhassan, has held a strategic meeting with the leadership of the Creative Arts Agency of Ghana to explore collaboration aimed at strengthening Ghana’s creative and literacy sectors.

The meeting, held on Monday, March 2, 2026, brought together officials from both institutions and was led on the side of the Creative Arts Agency by its Acting Executive Secretary, Gideon Aryeequaye.

The discussions centred on identifying practical areas of partnership, particularly in promoting reading culture, nurturing creative talents among young people, and transforming library spaces into vibrant hubs for arts, culture and innovation.

Both institutions examined how Ghana’s public libraries can serve not only as centres for reading and research but also as platforms for discovering and developing creative potential in communities.

The talks highlighted opportunities for joint programmes, skills development workshops, capacity-building initiatives and community-based engagements designed to support Ghana’s growing creative economy.

The leadership of the two agencies also discussed ways to align their mandates to ensure that literacy development complements broader national efforts to boost the arts and creative industries.

The engagement reaffirmed the shared commitment of the Ghana Library Authority and the Creative Arts Agency to empower young people and strengthen the link between literacy, creativity and national development.

Officials expressed optimism that the emerging partnership would help unlock new opportunities for youth across the country while deepening the role of libraries as catalysts for innovation and cultural expression.
