Group I is gradually taking shape after the matchday 7 games in the ongoing 2026 FIFA World Cup qualification stage on Thursday, September 4, 2025.
In Group I, the Black Stars drew 1-1 with Chad at the Stade Olympique Maréchal Idriss Déby Itno in N’Djamena. Ghana are still on top of the table with 16 points.
Madagascar on the other hand moved to the second position with 13 points after whipping Central Africa Republic 2-0 at the Stade Larbi Zaouli in Casablanca, Morocco.
Ghana’s matchday 8 opponent, Mali also secured a statement victory at home at the Stade du 26 Mars in Bamako after thumping Comoros 3-0 to move to the third position on the table.

The Black Stars will host Mali on September 8, Madagascar will travel to Chad while Central Africa Republic and Comoros will face off at the Stade d’Honneur in Meknes.
