GHS has given Bernice Aboagye up to October 24, 2025, to respond to the query GHS has given Bernice Aboagye up to October 24, 2025, to respond to the query

The Ghana Health Service (GHS) has issued a formal query to a staff member of the Nkenkansu Hospital, Bernice Aboagye, following allegations of her using “unprintable, inappropriate, and scandalous” language against Health Minister Kwabena Mintah Akandoh in videos circulating on social media.

In an internal memo addressed to Ms Aboagye and dated October 10, 2025, the GHS expressed grave concern over the content of the videos, which it noted have sparked widespread public backlash and negative commentary online.

The Service noted that several citizens have contacted its office to voice their disapproval of Ms. Aboagye’s conduct, which they argue undermines the professional standards expected of public servants.

The GHS has directed Ms. Aboagye to respond to allegations of professional misconduct under its Code of Conduct and Disciplinary Procedures.

In a viral copy of the query sighted by GhanaWeb, the nurse has been asked to explain why disciplinary action should not be taken against her for: (1) using unacceptable and inappropriate language, constituting rude behavior towards the Health Minister, in violation of Section 8.1(c); (2) using abusive language against the Minister, breaching Section 8.1(l); and (3) tarnishing the corporate image of the GHS and bringing its reputation into disrepute, contrary to Section 4.1(d).
