An official of the Ghana Football Association has made an open declaration about the fate of two former England youth internationals who have been linked to nationality switch to Ghana ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Henry Asante-Twum, the spokesperson for the Ghanaian football governing body, has shared surprising updates about two Premier League attackers who fans are expecting to make appearances at the upcoming FIFA World Cup in the United States of America, Canada and Mexico.

Callum Hudson-Odoi and Eddie Nketiah have been linked with nationality switches to Ghana’s Black Stars ahead of the 2026 World Cup after being constantly snubbed by England’s Three Lions.

According to various sources, the two players have expressed interest in representing Ghana after England rejected them at senior levels.

However, Asante-Twum has revealed in an interview that there has been no official contact from the camp of the players concerning a possible switch to play for Ghana.

“To my knowledge, I am not aware of Eddie Nketiah or Odoi approaching the Black Stars. Four years ago, the coach did make contact with these players, but it didn’t materialize at the time. Otto Addo has not informed me of any further discussions with them as of now.

If the coach identifies a player he wants to call up, we will reach out. In cases of nationality switches, the FA will initiate the process and ensure it is properly handled,” he told Kumasi-based Akoma FM.
