    Ghana has been placed in Pot 4 as the Federation of International Football Association (FIFA) prepares for the 2026 World Cup draw.

    The draw, which will take place in Washington, United States, on December 5, 2025, will determine the group-stage opponents for the qualified countries.

    So far, 42 of the 48 teams have qualified for the 2026 World Cup, which will be co-hosted by the United States, Mexico, and Canada.

    Apart from the host nations, the rest of the teams have been arranged according to the FIFA Rankings released in November 2025.

    Ghana finds itself in Pot 4 as one of the lower-ranked teams and could face tough opponents in the draw. Six places will be determined through the play-offs scheduled for March 2026.

    The Black Stars could face one of the top nations such as Spain, Argentina, France, England, Portugal, Germany, Belgium, Brazil, and others at the group stage, as these teams are in Pot 1.

    It is worth noting that countries from the same confederation will not be drawn against each other, except in the case of the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA).

    Pot 1: Mexico (Group A), Canada (Group B), United States (Group D), Germany, Argentina, Belgium, Brazil, Spain, France, England, Netherlands, Portugal

    Pot 2: Croatia, Morocco, Colombia, Uruguay, Switzerland, Senegal, Japan, Iran, South Korea, Ecuador, Austria, Australia

    Pot 3: Norway, Panama, Egypt, Algeria, Scotland, Paraguay, Ivory Coast, Tunisia, Qatar, Uzbekistan, Saudi Arabia, South Africa

    Pot 4: Jordan, Cape Verde, Ghana, Curaçao, New Zealand, Haiti, UEFA Play-off #1, UEFA Play-off #2, UEFA Play-off #3, UEFA Play-off #4, Intercontinental Play-off #1, Intercontinental Play-off #2
