Ghana defender Alexander Djiku played a pivotal role in Fenerbahce’s thrilling 3-2 comeback victory against Konyaspor in the Turkish Süper Lig on Monday January 13, 2025.

The Week 19 encounter showcased the Black Stars centre-back’s defensive prowess as he contributed significantly to his team’s success.

Alexander Djiku started and completed the full 90 minutes of the match, delivering a solid performance that earned him a commendable rating of 7.2.

Despite conceding two goals, his composure and defensive interventions were critical in maintaining Fenerbahce’s lead during the second half.

The match began with an early goal from Pedro Henrique for Konyaspor, giving the home side a quick advantage. Fenerbahce responded with a well-taken header by Mert Muldur to level the score.

Another header, this time from Caglar Soyuncu, put Fenerbahce ahead, but Konyaspor equalised before halftime through a header from Blaz Kramer.

In the second half, a defensive error from Konyaspor gifted Fenerbahce the decisive goal. Dusan Tadic capitalised on the mistake, calmly finishing to secure the win for his side.

With consistent efforts in training and matches, Alexander Djiku is set to play a key role in Fenerbahce’s aspirations for the rest of the season.

He is expected to be part of the Black Stars squad that will be assembled in March for the next round of games in the qualifiers for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
