Ghana’s Black Queens have been officially crowned champions of the Pink Ladies Cup in the United Arab Emirates on March 6, 2026.
The team was presented with the trophy at their hotel after withdrawing from their final scheduled match against Tanzania women’s national football team due to safety concerns amid rising tensions in the Middle East. Officials from Ghana’s diplomatic mission and the Ghana Football Association remained in constant contact with the squad, assuring them of their safety while closely monitoring developments in the region.
Despite the cancellation of the final fixture, Ghana secured the title after an impressive start to the tournament. The Black Queens opened their campaign with a commanding 4–0 victory over Hong Kong women’s national football team before recording another dominant 4–0 win against Russia women’s national football team. The two victories placed Ghana at the top of the standings and guaranteed the title.
On the individual front, Doris Boaduwaa emerged as the tournament’s top scorer with three goals, while Cynthia Konlan was named Best Goalkeeper after keeping two clean sheets.
The tournament served as preparation for the upcoming 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco. The competition has been rescheduled by the Confederation of African Football to take place from July 25 to August 16, 2026.
