    President John Dramani Mahama has clarified that the money he gifted to a dancer during his Thank You Tour at Dodowa in the Greater Accra Region was GH¢500, and not US dollars.

    Addressing the gathering after a dance performance, he stated, “To put it on record, the money I had was GH₵500 and not dollars.”

    The clarification comes on the heels of a recent viral video that captured Acting Chief Executive of the Ghana Gold Board, Sammy Gyamfi, handing over an undisclosed amount of US dollars to fetish priestess who now professes to be an evangelist, Patricia Asiedua Asiamah.

    Meanwhile, the Presidency has officially announced that no further action will be taken against Sammy Gyamfi, following the incident.

    At a recent press briefing, the Minister of Government Communications, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, announced that President Mahama has accepted Sammy Gyamfi’s apology.

    Kwakye Ofosu conveyed the president’s directive that public officials must strictly adhere to the Code of Conduct and be ever mindful of public expectations.
