GFA General Secretary, Prosper Harrison Addo GFA General Secretary, Prosper Harrison Addo

Prosper Harrison Addo, General Secretary of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), has pledged that no stakeholder will be left dissatisfied with the newly enhanced matchday protocols in a bid to restore confidence and ensure safety in Ghana football.

As the GFA prepares for the resumption of the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League, which was suspended following the tragic death of Asante Kotoko supporter Francis Frimpong Pooley, Addo is focused on creating a secure environment for fans and participants alike.

However, the protocols didn’t not address many of the proposals outlined by Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak in their joint statement.

Speaking in an interview with Asempa FM, Addo assured that the GFA is making significant progress for the league to continue.

“We are going progressively and as fast as we can. We are moving together and we want to bring everybody along. We will make that engagement and announce a date for the resumption of the league.

“We will plead with the supporters to be patient, [announcement] will be done soon. Matches will not come off this weekend but we are moving as fast as we can,” he aid.

The GFA has introduced stringent safety measures, including the appointment of Club Safety and Security Officers and the installation of CCTV cameras at match venues.

Non-compliance with these protocols will result in stiff penalties, including fines of GH¢20,000 and venue bans, reinforcing the GFA’s commitment to a safer football experience for all stakeholders.
