The Ghana Football Association (GFA), led by Deputy General Secretary (admin) Ama Brobey-Williams, will launch the Girls for Goals program on Tuesday, November 26, at the Keta Business School in the Volta Region.

Girls for Goals is a 9-month empowerment initiative aimed at promoting gender equality through Sports, Education, Healthy Lifestyles, among young and girls to inspire them to reach their full potential.

The program will provide training and mentorship to girls and boys aged 10-18, with a focus on football and other sporting activities,

This is also in line with the GFA’s development program, which aims to promote grassroots football and increase participation in the sport through various campaigns.

The Girls for Goals program aligns with the GFA’s vision of promoting women’s football.

“The Girls for Goals program is a critical initiative that aligns with the GFA’s vision of promoting women’s football and empowering girls through sports. We believe that every girl has the potential to achieve greatness, and we are committed to providing them with the support and resources they need to succeed.”

She emphasized that “Girls4Goals embodies our vision of focusing on sustainable development, one community at a time. Our ultimate goal is to nurture a generation of change-makers who are equipped to contribute positively to their communities. We envision Girls4Goals as a scalable template for nationwide impact.”

The program has received significant support from FIFA, the world governing body of football, La Guilde, GIZ, and the GFA.

The launch of the Girls for Goals campaign will be attended by dignitaries, including the District Chief Executive of Keta, the Director of Education for the Keta Municipal Assembly, and representatives from the Ghana Education Service together with Chief and Queen mothers of the Keta Community.
