The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has reaffirmed its commitment to the growth and development of women’s football by sustaining and in some cases increasing its comprehensive support package for the Women’s Premier League (WPL).

Building on the success of last year’s initiatives, the GFA will maintain all core interventions designed to ease the operational burden on clubs and enhance the overall standard of the league.

The GFA’s support for the Women’s Premier League remains unwavering, with a commitment to maintain last season’s comprehensive package while increasing financial incentives to drive the league’s growth.

For the new season, all 20 WPL clubs will benefit from the full absorption of referees’ fees, valued at GHS 1,050,000; the provision of 30 pairs of football boots per club, worth a total of GHS 2,115,420; and 30 footballs per club, amounting to GHS 330,000. Additional interventions include the Bus Acquisition Strategy to enhance transportation and logistics, continued partnership support from Melcom Ghana for extra resources, and the Goil fuel support initiative to ease travel expenses.

Significantly, the cash incentive per club will rise from GHS 60,000 to a minimum of GHS 100,000 for the new season, marking a substantial increase in direct financial support.

The Football Association’s sustained investment underscores its long-term vision for women’s football as an integral part of Ghana’s footballing future.

President Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku has consistently emphasized233 302 934109 that women’s football will remain a central pillar of the GFA’s development agenda, with targeted interventions aimed at raising standards and expanding opportunities for female players nationwide.
