Former Communications Director of the Ghana Football Association, Ibrahim Sannie Daara, has urged the association to bring the football community together following the failure to qualify for the 2025 AFCON.

The seasoned media expert believes the divisions and grievances within the football family are hindering progress and must be addressed for the betterment of the sport in the country.

Ghana’s disappointing campaign saw them fail to win a single match, finishing at the bottom of Group F with just three points, missing out on the AFCON for the first time in 21 years.

“We should be uniting the football family. I think there are too many reactions within the football family. Previously, we used to go to the battlefield as a united front,” Daara told Joy Sports.

“Some players have grievances. Some members of the football family have grievances. The media has grievances. The FA has grievances. And we have elders in the house. I would think that the first thing we do is to put the family together; unite as the first measure.

“Get the management committee together. Get a good management committee that can unite the football family. I’m hearing some names that are not uniting factors within the football family.

“There are lots of people that I’m hearing that, you know, will even evoke anger when their names come up.

“I think that we should be working towards that and go with the united front in the future. The future will be better.”

The Ghana Football Association has apologized for the failure to qualify for the AFCON and vowed to implement changes aimed at revitalizing the national team.
