Ghanaian football greats John Paintsil and Fatau Dauda are set to lose their jobs with the Black Stars following the decision by the Ghana Football Association to revamp coach Otto Addo‘s backroom staff.

Ghanasoccernet reports that the GFA has decided to part ways with all the assistant coaches as they bid to recruit new supporting team for Otto Addo

Otto Addo presented his report, consisting of the reasons that accounted for the team’s poor performance, when he met the GFA Executive Council on November 27, 2024.

The meeting ended inconclusively as the GFA indicated that they will engage more stakeholders, including the government, to determine the fate of Otto Addo.

The FA has yet to issue a public statement to address the future of the Black Stars‘ technical team.

Otto Addo and his men came under intense scrutiny over their failure to qualify the Black Stars for the 2025 AFCON in Morocco.

Ghana lost three, drew three, and won none of their six matches played in the 2025 AFCON qualifiers.

The team finished bottom of Group F with just three points, while Sudan and Angola qualified from the group.

It marks the first time in 20 years that the Black Stars have not qualified for the AFCON.

The team will be hoping for the best as they prepare for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, which will resume in March 2026.
