The Executive Council of the Ghana Football Association is set to meet on Friday to determine a replacement for Otto Addo following his dismissal after a string of poor results ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
According to sources, the meeting will focus on appointing a new head coach to lead Ghana at the global tournament, where the Black Stars have been drawn against Panama, Croatia, and England in the group stage.
Addo, who guided Ghana to qualification, was initially expected to remain in charge. However, four consecutive defeats in international friendlies prompted the GFA, in consultation with the Sports and Recreation Ministry, to make a change.
GFA President Kurt Okraku has already indicated that a new coach will be appointed within two weeks, with Friday’s meeting expected to accelerate the process.
Several high-profile candidates have been linked to the role, including Hervé Renard, Walid Regragui, and Joachim Löw. Former Ghana coach Kwasi Appiah is also under consideration.
Ghana will open their World Cup campaign on June 17 against Panama, before facing England and Croatia in subsequent group matches.
