The Ghana Football Association (GFA) will not hold a by-election to replace Gifty Oware-Mensah, a member of the GFA Executive Council, as alleged, according to ghanasoccernet.com.

The report indicates that Oware-Mensah, who served as the Deputy Executive Director of the National Service Scheme (NSS) under the Akufo-Addo government, has been active in GFA meetings and activities contrary to reports.

She was reportedly part of a recent meeting held to discuss issues related to Ghana football.

It was also clarified that the GFA do not plan to hold any by-election to replace any of the individuals on the Executive Council.

The report urged the public to disregard such claims in the media, as they are untrue.

This comes after reports suggested that Oware-Mensah had been absent from recent GFA Executive Council meetings and had left the country, prompting speculation that the football governing body would hold a by-election to replace her.

She has faced criticism following the NSS scandal, in which over 80,000 ghost names were allegedly added to the scheme’s personnel list.

Oware-Mensah is the owner of Berry Ladies FC and also serves as the Chairperson of the Black Queens’ Management Committee.
