According to the GFA statement, Boateng’s leadership will this time be complemented by Gabriel Godwin Kwao, Vice Chairman of the Greater Accra Regional Football Association, who will serve as his deputy.

The association indicated that the maintenance of the committee members is to ensure continuity in planning and also to groom more talents for the country.

“The retention of Daniel Boateng and the inclusion of respected football administrators is seen as a strong statement of the Association’s commitment to continuity and stability in nurturing young talents,” the statement added.

The GFA also appointed tactician Salifu Fatawu to take charge of the national U-15 boys’ team as its head coach.

The FA noted that Salifu’s vast experience is key to the appointment, which is expected to enhance the players’ ability.

Prior to the appointment, Salifu served as assistant coach to Karim Zito when the U-20 team clinched the U-20 WAFU Championship in Benin in 2020 and went on to win the U-20 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Mauritania in 2021.
