Ghana Football Executive Member, Frederick Acheampong, is rallying support for Black Stars coach Otto Addo ahead of the resumption of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers in March.

While the long-term future of Addo is unclear, it appears quite certain the former Ghana international will lead the team against Chad and Madagascar in two months.

Otto Addo has come under intense scrutiny following the Black Stars failed 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign.

While views are widely divided over his long-term future, Ghana Football Association Executive Council member, Frederick Acheampong has voiced support for the gaffer.

“We have confidence, why not? He is the coach and needs our support. If you and I start losing confidence in him, who does he turn to? he quizzed on Kumasi-based Akoma FM

Yes, and he himself admit the results we had from the Afcon qualifiers is not the best. He acknowledges that, and I do same.

What he needs to know is that, whatever we need to do to support him to be able to negotiate the World Cup qualifiers and do well is what he requires of us.”

The will host Chad on Monday March 17, before travelling as guests to Madagascar between 17-25 March, 2025.

Other qualification matches have been scheduled for 1-9 September, 2025 with the final matchday scheduled for 6-14 october, 2025 against Central Africa Republic and Comoros respectively.

The 2026 FIFA World Cup will be staged in Canada, USA and Mexico between June -July, 2026.
