Bastian Dieti of the Obroni Cycling Team has burst onto the scene with a commanding solo win in Stage 2 of the 2025 Tour du Ghana.
The 24-year-old German rider dominated the 80km route from Ho to Fume, stopping the clock at 2:06:57 to claim his first major triumph of the tour.
Dieti launched a decisive late attack that completely split the race, leaving the chasing peloton far behind.
Behind him, Tom Wyfve of the Netherlands and Burkina Faso’s Soumaila Ilboudo fought hard for the remaining podium spots.
Wyfve secured second place with a time of 2:09:05—just three seconds ahead of Ilboudo.
With this breakthrough victory, Dieti now moves into the overall lead heading into Wednesday’s stage.
He praised the passionate Ghanaian fans for inspiring his powerful solo ride.
