Former German footballer of Ghanaian descent, Gerald Asamoah has flown heart specialists and nurses to Ghana to perform heart surgeries on underprivileged children.

Gerald, founder of the Gerald Asamoah Heart Foundation, flew a total of 40 heart specialists for the 2024 edition of his annual open-heart surgery program.

This is the second edition of the pediatric surgeries for children. In the first edition, he sponsored the surgeries of twenty children in November 2023.

The surgeries are set to take place at the University of Ghana Medical Center (UGMC) due to the foundation’s partnership with UGMC’s Cardiothoracic Department.

The Gerald Asamoah Heart Foundation aims to support children with heart disease in Ghana.

The beneficiaries of the 2024 open-heart surgery program have been selected.
