There’s no doubt George Clooney and his wife Amal Clooney live a very luxe life with an estimated net worth of $550 million combined.
Yet, the megastar insists he lives a ‘normal’ life – despite the power couple owning multiple homes around the world, including a $14.7 million New York City condo, an 18th-century villa on Lake Como, a 17th-century mansion on the English island of Sonning Eye and a $8.3 million wine estate in Provence, France.
Following the success of his Broadway play Good Night, and Good Luck, the 64-year-old’s next film is Jay Kelly, in which he coincidentally stars as a ‘famous movie actor.’
When asked by DailyMail.com at Monday’s premiere during the New York Film Festival whether he craves normalcy like his character, he revealed he indeed does have ‘normalcy’ in his life.
‘I have normalcy. You know, I drive my kids to school every morning,’ he insisted. ‘I have normalcy – except for this!’
George, who was wearing a dapper blue suit for the occasion, was accompanied on the red carpet by his publicist and an entourage. He then admitted he does have somewhat of a ‘pampered’ life, which he tries to shield from his and Amal’s eight-year-old twins Ella and Alexander.

George Clooney told the Daily Mail that his life is ‘normal,’ despite attending his movie premiere at the New York Film Festival on Monday night

The A-list actor was joined by his wife Amal Clooney, who wore an Oscar de la Renta mini dress
He explained: ‘They didn’t come to the set much. They came a couple of times. I try to keep the kids away from that experience right now.
‘I’m not quite sure what they would think about it. I don’t want them to think we’re too pampered.’
The A-list couple has knowingly kept their kids out of the spotlight ever since they were born in June 2017.
In the upcoming Netflix film, Jay Kelly ’embarks on a journey of self-discovery, confronting his past and present’ while being ‘pitched at the intersection of regrets and glories.’
The Oscar-winning actor related his own Hollywood experience to his character.
‘I also felt like how lucky I was that I didn’t live with the kinds of regret that this character does,’ George said during Monday’s premiere.
‘I chalk it up to the fact that I got famous much later in life, and so I was a little more balanced and understanding how little success has to do with you.
‘Because you know, when you’re young and you get success, you just think you’re a genius; you get older, you think, well, luck played a big part in it.’

The power couple, seen at the Jay Kelly premiere on Monday, tied the knot in 2014

The Clooney’s also own a 17th-century mansion on the English island of Sonning Eye. The couple reportedly paid $13 million for the stunning home on the River Thames (pictured)
He continued, ‘So all these regrets that this character lived with, I got to look at it as a character, not me, which is a lot healthier.’
Meanwhile, his wife Amal, who attended the premiere at Alice Tully Hall in a stunning Oscar de la Renta red floral mini dress, previously talked about how important it is for them to have a balance in their lives.
The human rights lawyer, 47, told Glamour in July, ‘It’s important to get that balance where you have time alone with your family and with your friends where people feel like you can have a safe and frank exchange.
‘And I would say becoming a parent means you’re more troubled by some of the intrusions. So we do the best we can to minimize any impact on our children.
‘We don’t put our children out there, we’ve never put their photo out there or anything like that.’
Amal and George recently celebrated their 11th wedding anniversary on September 27. Since then, the pair have made a point to support each other at events and premieres.
‘I have a partner in life who is so supportive of what I do. So I don’t feel like I have to apologize for it or rein it in,’ she told Glamour.
‘And I remember when I became a mom, which was obviously a new frontier, he was the first one to say, “I know you’ve got this speech at the Security Council. You have to go, I’ve got the kids, don’t worry about it.”

George told the Daily Mail about working with Adam Sandler: ‘It’s just fun to work with a guy who’s, you know, he’s a beautiful actor, he’s a wonderful comedian and he’s just a great soul’

George was joined onstage by co-stars Laura Dern and Adam Sandler, as well as director Noah Baumbach, as they took part in a Q&A following the film screening at Alice Tully Hall
‘I feel so incredibly lucky to share every day with him. And now we’re four. And I don’t take any of it for granted. I treasure the laughter and the joy that I get from just being with them.’
Unlike George and Amal, who attended the event without their kids, it was a family affair for his co-star Adam Sandler, 59.
The Happy Gilmore 2 star arrived at the New York Film Festival premiere of Jay Kelly with his entire family, including wife Jackie and daughters Sadie, 19, and Sunny, 16.
In the movie, Adam plays Jay Kelly’s manager, Ron, while Laura Dern plays his publicist, Liz.
Joking about his on-screen chemistry with the funnyman, George said, ‘Well, it was a love scene they cut out that really helped make the chemistry.’
He continued, ‘Listen, I’ve known Adam a long time and he’s a dear friend, and the minute we knew we were going to get a chance to work together, we were thrilled.
‘It’s just fun to work with a guy who’s, you know, he’s a beautiful actor, he’s a wonderful comedian and he’s just a great soul. And I make him dress up.’
George pointed out that his pal wasn’t in ‘those dumb shorts,’ thanks to him.
Meanwhile, Adam praised working with the A-lister to a group of reporters on the red carpet, ‘George Clooney was extremely kind to me, always very encouraging.
‘Every day we would do scenes and he’d have ideas and thoughts about everything and it was a great environment.’
Jay Kelly hits select theaters nationwide on November 14, followed by its release on Netflix on December 5.
